Megan Smucker Raymond has over a decade of experience in community-based social work and psychotherapy. After her own struggle with prenatal depression, Megan was inspired to pursue a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and further explore the identity re-formation, conflict, and grief that occurs during the transition from “self” to “parent”. Megan began to dive in to couples and sex therapies with the Gottman Institute and Integrative Sex Therapy Institute upon recognizing the often equally difficult parallel process of shifting from “partner” to “team”, and ways in which support systems wane postpartum. She considers herself to be a lifelong learner and is currently in training to be EMDRIA certified.
Megan is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the states of New York and New Jersey. In addition to this practice, she is a wellness counselor and crisis intervention specialist for city agencies, sci-fi nerd, and mom of two little humans.
Megan is also an avid reader and book club extraordinaire-visit her Bookshop here for bibliotherapy recommendations and to see what she’s reading now!
